WELCOME TO SUMMER '24 TEAM SHOOT

On the 3rd of July half of my '24 crew team drove into Stillwater MN extremely early to the infamous boom site. A location I was excited to work in as it embodies the MN beach scene beautifully. The boats of river campers in the background as well as our gorgeous St. Croix River. It was truly a beautiful morning.

I haven't done a Model Team truly since 2019. It is a tough commitment and with 95% of my clients being heavily committed to their sports asking them to give more of their time is truly hard. I have a few Legacy families this year. These families are ones whom have worked with me in the past with their other soon to be graduates. They were looking for the same experience for this round of graduates as their past son or daughter had with me. Experience being the operative word, this is what a Model Team is all about.

My goal with each guest this year on the '24 Crew is to create fun, bold, beautiful experiences for them as the year goes on. In the past I have done 7 Vines Vineyard, "Pool Party" with DJ, creates and fully styled, Airport Hanger with full HMUA, Styling and video, ect. This had to be special as it is round two for some families. There will be 3 more Team Shoots to go, each time we will push to have something unique and fun to create a memory for my guests that las a lifetime.

We used H&M to style in their "Red, White & New" Collection. I was missing 8 young people this day so color blocks are slightly off. No matter though, we had a great time and as silly and awkward as it may be at first my crew finds a way to break barriers quickly and connect with one another. I appreciate each of them as individuals and love what they bring to the table. They were kind and respectful to one another and who knows maybe a new friendship will form or connection will be made just from committing to show up, have fun and well, make some pretty cool images.

I am so excited to work with my seniors this year. I want to thank each of you for waking up early to come hang with me. You are a GORGEOUS crew and it is an honor to have your business this year and to photograph you. You all keep me young!!!

Are You Session Ready? | MN Senior Photographer

Have you booked your session? No matter who you are working with getting your dates in their books is important. Then it is time to begin your prep, this is details like knowing your favorite season, booking hair cuts, nails, possible eye brow wax and a shopping date to decide on your looks.

Have an idea if you want a country only, urban only or a subtle mix of both. Knowing this will help your photographer decide on a route for you. We all have our spots and are able to make suggestions but knowing what environment you connect with best is a huge help in helping us design your special day.

On your session day packing is so important. Bring all your looks on hangers, plan ahead if you need thing ironed, dry-cleaned ect. Don't throw your looks into a bag and call it good. Pulling out wrinkly looks and trying to look good\feel good will not work. Pack your accessories from shoes, hats, sports gear in a bag and put jewelry in a smaller organizer to keep everything together.

Bring along your parent, bestie, guardian or whom ever that supportive person is in your life. They are able to assist you, adore you and encourage those personality moments that are all YOU!!!

You have all that? Rock On! Enjoy this season of your life and don't take it too seriously. If you are ready, organized and yourself, this is the easy part. Have fun class of 2024. This is your time!

READY! SET! SUMMER! | '24 Crew Welcome to Summer Session! | Stillwater, MN Senior Photographer

Summer sessions are nearly set by my current senior guests. I am so thankful for this year's seniors. I have a STACKED model team and great group of "session only" seniors. I am truly excited to work with all of them. I want to thank each of you for your business this year.

Inspiration for this model session was created in Mexico, however the idea and wish for this session was created when I booked my first 5 gorgeous "Travel Crew" Kenzie & Michael (Legacy family members), Ava (Legacy Family member), Alex and Izzy - new family to me but no less special. I had such fun with our silly little "meet and greet" sessions. No one took this too seriously, it is important for "model crew" to just embrace ideas and go with the flow.

These young people did just that. Nothing too fancy just us getting to know one another in my little space. I want to know each individual guests personality, how they deal with objects and space as well as their confidence level. Because for Pete sakes, I am going to POST you! It is why you choose "model crew status" so I have to know you can hang and handle it. Handel it they did. Now for the first of 4 session this group will embark on with me. Selfish really. I get ALL their time and ALL the gorgeousness and they have to work with the setting given them and ROCK it!

On July 3rd we will all be together and work with what the Lord gives us for weather and the setting in the image below. Although '24 crew will have a few more faces not introduced yet I am positive these young people will absolutely 100% BRING IT!

HMUA: Shelly Hogan - I am so excited about ALL things Shelly. She brings so much to my business and is truly down for my guest list! Shelly books a year in advance for weddings, so Monday morning at 6:00am after what will have been a crazy busy weekend for her she is hanging with me and a few ladies on the crew. Shooting will begin at 7:00am.

Styling: H&M - I am so excited about this "modern 4th" Red, White and New look. Going for a Waspy Clam Bake vibe or hamptoms campfire on beach vibe. Anyway all looks as well as the pillows I will use to complete this look are from H&M.

Live: We will be going live on Instagram @PurperaStyle for a few of these moments. My Louisiana Guest will be flying out after our 1 hour shoot so I am looking forward to this whole situation. We will be doing a few group shots as well as Individuals of each guest. Posting will take place on the 4th during the day into the evening.

The Setting: Stillwater MN!

I will be up at the CRACK making this happen. I am thankful to begin my season this way. Summer is crazy and our lives are NUTS. This should be titled "Planes, Up Early, Trams and Automobiles Summer session with all this group is having to deal with to get here." I am beyond excited. I am sure a Parent "Breakfest Car Bar" is in order.

If all else, I pray the weather is great and we have the most fun!! Stay tuned for our young people in their H&M looks. I am so very excited!!!
